1st and 2nd day of class

Okay so this should be my final two days in one blog because after this I'm gonna try to be really on the ball with my posting.

Okay so first day of class was fine. Our class starts at 9:30am, so we got up early, got ready, and went down to free hotel breakfast (croissant with cheese spread, yogurt, and tea...yum :) ). Then off to the center, which is about a half hour metro ride. We got to the center and class began. There are 4 students in my class. All different levels, but all learning Intermediate French I, its an adventure. The class is taught almost entirely in French, so it is pretty hard. It is going well though. Sometimes I get frustrated because I don't understand, but I'm learning a lot really fast.

The class is a 3 hour intensive, so we are done at about 12:30 everyday and then we all go to lunch. It it nice that we all get to eat together, FOR FREE, yay lunch cards from the center. So everday we get a free little lunch, drink and dessert. (Delicious!) Anywho, so after class people either do homework at the center, come back to chill at the hotel or the park nearby, or go out and about the city.

One thing I just realized I failed to mention is that this week, and the next 3 weeks is...SOLDES (sales)!!!! In France (as you probably don't know because I just found out), the government only allows businesses to have 2 sales a year within certain weeks. This means every store is having sales!!!! But also, everyone in Paris is shopping :p it is crazy.

So after my first day of class, and lunch, Tracy (my new super cool buddy) went to get my a cell phone (yay), exchange money (also yay), and go SHOPPING!!! We went to this underground mall which was really cool but hard to find because JP failed to mention it was underground when giving me directions. It was pretty silly. We finally found it and went into a couple stores I got a super cute jacket, some shirt and a dress for SUPER CHEAP!!!! The stuff came from Camaieu and Undiz (Undiz was my favorite, and where I bought the most stuff. It is technically an underwear store, but they had such cute shirts! ). The stores were really cool, but there were so many people in them.

After we went to find a Cafe for a drink and snack. We ended up finding this little place called l'Autobus. Funky little bar with big comfy squishy chairs. It ended up being happy hour so we got drinks and a little appetizer. We decided we wanted Guacamole so we went with the theme and I got a Pina Colada, and Tracy got a Red Mojito. (It was our Spanish adventure!!! lol)

Then we came back to the hotel. I worked on homework and had dinner in the park. Cheese, wine, tomatos and baggett. (so Delicious!!! I found my new fav cheese Boursin mmm) After that some chilling out and then sleep.

Sorry this blog is really long, but I'm determined to get caught up!!!

So then today was Day 2 of class. Pretty much the same as yesterday, except we sang!!! :) We sang Frere Jaques. Then lunch again. Ate with Karen, Nicole, and Tracy. Karen is super fun and funny and we might go to the Victor Hugo Museum tomorrow :). Tracy and I went shopping again to pick up what we missed. I got postcards (Finally I can start writing them!!!), a birthday present...oooo who is it for???? he he. Then I bought a childrens book about music in French with great artwork. It's to add to my childrens book collections from my Hastings days (I miss you Gusy!!!). Then we went to this funky imported scarf place, but no Soldes :(. The street we were on was supposed to have awsome ice cream. So Tracy and I tried it out, it indeed was awsome. I got banane (banana in case you couldn't get that one), it was so bananay that it was like eating a really sweet banana. Yummy!

We also saw this funky street group performing on the bridge that reminded my of Project Blue Book, but more techno-ish. (video to follow on facebook) They were pretty sweet partly because they had one of those piano guitar things, a tuba, a trumpet, a trombone, drums and a guitar. They were pretty good. We also saw a little English school band that played the Simpson theme. They weren't great, but it was still cool. Then back to the hotel for a nap. yay!

p.s. if you want a postcard you must send me your address!!!! No one has!!!! :p
